Sooji ka halwa recipe

When we think about the winter cold days, the first thing that comes to mind is Sooji ka halwa!

Halwa is one of the best dishes of winter that everyone likes. On special occasions mostly people enjoy halwa as a sweat desert. Without halwa, the dining table looks empty.

Sooji contains Magnesium and Phosphorus in rich amounts. Which helps to keep our nervous system function well and healthy.

In this recipe along with sooji, we can use milk which contains a high amount of calcium, phosphorous, magnesium, and zinc, etc.

It can strengthen our bones. It helps to protect the teeth. Milk also contains protein when we add milk and sooji its nutrition level increased. A diabetic person can use low-fat milk.

Sooji is also used by children. Because it is full of nutrients and the child requires a high amount of nutrients for their growth and strengthening of bones and teeth. Therefore, sooji is considered one of the best sweat dishes to eat.

This recipe is also full of dry fruits which include, almonds, raisins, walnuts, and cashews. Dry fruits contain a rich amount of proteins, vitamins, and minerals.

Almonds have anti-oxidants properties. It has zero cholesterol levels. These are good for hair, skin, and nails.

Cashews are also a good source of vitamin E, vitamin B6.

Raisins are good for health and help in the digestive process.

Walnuts contain Omega-3 fatty acids, proteins, fibers, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.

All these dry fruits can enhance the nutrition level and taste of sooji ka halwa.

Ingredients

Sooji 1 cup

Sugar 1 cup

Milk 1/2 cup

Ghee 1/2 cup

Walnuts 3 (chopped)

Raisins 2 tsp

Cashew 5-7 (chopped)

Almonds 5-7 (chopped)

Cardamom powder ΒΌ tsp

Directions

  • Take sooji in a heavy pot and add ghee to it.
  • Mix it well and over medium flame roast it for 10 to 15 minutes until it becomes golden brown
  • Add sugar in it and again mix it well
  • After that adding milk and cardamom powder in it and over high flame cooked it until it soaked all the milk.
  • Off the flame. And add all the dry nuts to it

Now halwa is ready, serve it with garnishing.

Mostly people cook it on Eid days to make their day special. It is so easy to cook you can cook it any time whenever you crave for sweat and healthy dish.
